Our team

Torfinn

25 years experience within oil and gas material technology in-field development, platform modifications and new-builds, topsides and subsea. Responsibilities include material specifications, material selection, corrosion and surface protection, welding technology and follow-up of packages.

18 years in Aker Engineering plus 7 years in Ztrong Partner with various responsibilities: Lead engineer on platform projects for Statoil, ConocoPhillips, BP, Exxon, ENI, etc. (on operator side, contractor side, equipment manufacturer side); Specialist assistance within material and corrosion engineering, Professor II at the University of Stavanger, Managing director in Ztrong Partner A/S.

Current responsibilities are material technology related work on various offshore projects, studies, problem solving, advising, Norsok M-650 qualifications, follow-up of equipment packages and development of Ztrong Partner A/S.

Kristian

10 years of experience within offshore materials technology in new-build, modification, maintenance and early phase projects. Responsibility includes material selection, corrosion and surface protection evaluations and specifications, follow-up of procurement packages, and reports covering material selection, surface protection and corrosion monitoring.

6.5 years in Aker Solutions with various responsibilities: Principal Engineer Materials Technology with responsibility for the discipline Work Process in the Project Execution Model for Aker Solutions MMO; Support to department manager on new employments, strategies, in-house education, etc.; Discipline lead for materials technology on various projects; Technical support to Aker Solution Supply Management with involvement in evaluation of frame agreements, global sourcing of steel and piping products, and qualification of Chinese manufacturers of pipes and fittings in accordance with Norsok M-650.

Currently responsible as Material and Corrosion Lead on the Martin Linge Project for Total E&P Norway with responsibility for material selection, corrosion protection, surface protection and insulation on the platform package (Jacket and topside). Follow up of topside EPCI contractor (Technip France and Samsung Heavy Industries) and jacket EPC contractor (Kvaerner Verdal) including all sub suppliers.

34 years of experience within offshore corrosion protection technology in new-build-, and maintenance projects, mainly with responsibility for coatings, insulation, passive fire protection, etc.

19 years in Det Norske Veritas and Kværner Engineering as Specialist Surface Protection Engineer with various responsibilities: Specifications and procedures; Follow up of module and jacket construction yards; Follow up of manufacturers of valves and equipment; Cathodic protection design.

15 years in ConocoPhillips as Specialist Surface Protection Engineer with various responsibilities: Contract manager and technically and commercially responsible for all painting, insulation, passive fire protection, scaffolding and rope access work on the Ekofisk fields; Reorganisation of surface protection strategies and department; Establishing condition monitoring methods in order to have full control from land; Specifications and procedures; Specialist assistance to new-build department.

Sindre

2.5 years experience as project engineer at supply-chain level, participating in design of mechanical equipment (multiphase flow-meters). Used to having a proactive role, assisting project (sales, procurement, sub-suppliers, designers etc.) and product department within the field of material selection and corrosion. Follow up technical clarifications towards client and sub-contractors.

2.5 years in FMC Technologies, Multiphase Meters. Main responsibilities includes receiving control of materials and acceptance of material documents, quality review and approval of assembly drawings, stress calculations as performer and as checker; Follow-up of sub-suppliers (follow up of deliveries and equipment packages, checking of sub-suppliers procedures and documentation); Review of contract requirements; Engineering guidelines, design and fabrication specifications; Evaluating fabrication methods; Selection of coatings for corrosion protection and thermal insulation.

One year of experience in automotive light alloy materials. 7 years experience in civil construction design, building site management, production management. 3 years in BMS-Steel with various responsibilities (material technology, process management, quality management, lead auditor).

5 years of experience and currently working as Material and Welding specialist in FMC Technologies, Multiphase Meters with various responsibilities including: Offshore materials technology in new-build, modification, maintenance and early phase projects with responsibility for material selection, corrosion and surface protection evaluations and specifications; Follow-up of procurement packages and reports covering material selection, surface protection, stress calculation; Welding, welding processes qualification and supplier qualification; Technical support for bid, production, quality and procurement; Technical auditor.

Tore Johan

6 years of experience as material/mechanical engineer within the offshore oil and gas industry. 1.5 years in pressure vessel design mainly with the responsibilities of performing pressure vessel calculations and programming/code-writing for pressure vessel calculation software.

4.5 years in Aker Solutions as Materials Engineer in modification and maintenance projects. The responsibility involved: material selection; corrosion and surface protection evaluations and specifications; technical support for bid clarifications; review of documentation; follow-up of procurement packages including sub suppliers; reports covering material selection; support to discipline lead for materials technology discipline on various projects.

Currently responsible as first-line support Mechanical Engineer in the Gyda Operations Department for Talisman Energy Norway with responsibility for maintenance of structures, living quarters, piping, valves, pumps, motors/engines, compressors, lifting equipment etc. Tasks involved are: planning of maintenance, creating work orders and acquiring materials/equipment and services.
